Vega Sicilia
Out of the nearly 1,000 hectares that make up the Vega Sicilia estate, 210 are used to grow vines. Our vines are in soils with very specific features, where the influence of the flow of the River Duero and the passing of time has been essential. Vines having been grown on the Vega Sicilia estate for over hundred years, which makes it possible to obtain a specific plant matter and genetic make-up. All this, together with the extremely careful and respectful handling of the vines and of the environment, makes it possible to produce unique vines. -
Alión
Alión is the result of a careful selection of land in different areas of the denomination of origin. The aim is to obtain a wine that represents the best of the Ribera del Duero, in keeping with the vine management criteria that emanate from Vega Sicilia. Different types of soils are used that complement each other to ensure a qualitative diversity in the same variety of grape, the Tinto Fino.

Ribera Del Duero
The Vega Sicilia legacy, in the heart of Castilla
The Ribera del Duero wine region stretches over the
northern plateau and the River Duero runs right through its whole length. Even though the first wines were produced here in
Roman Spain, it would not be until the 13th century when the
vineyards were truly established in the region. The winemaking tradition, with its periods of good and bad times, has
survived to the present and has left its mark on the landscape, the culture and
the personality of its people. The zone achieved
winemaking denomination of origin status in 1982. Up until then, the clarets of
each year were produced and drunk, and the denomination of origin was
established thanks to the endeavours of a small group of wineries determined to
do things correctly.
